Overview
Mendocino-Lake Community College District is currently accepting applications for a Short-Term, Non-Continuing Program Specialist - Zero Cost Textbook to work in our Library, assisting with the Zero Cost Textbook Program. This is a temporary, non-continuing position open until filled. We are seeking an equity-minded person committed to supporting our diverse student population and the District Mission.
Under the direction of the appropriate manager, provides program support and exercises autonomous project development and stakeholder deliverables.

Salary and BenefitsThis is a Short-Term Non-Continuing (STNC), temporary, hourly position, up to 20 hours per week, $25.22 per hour. Ed Code 88003 authorizes a governing board to hire STNC employees for less than 75% of a school year, up to 180 days.

Paid Time Off:
The successful candidate will earn forty (40) hours of sick leave per fiscal year.
Retirement:
This position may be eligible for CalPERS Retirement (contingent upon number of hours worked within the fiscal year).
The successful candidate will support student success and equal access by executing the following duties:
- ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES
- Track textbook information for the bookstore, schedule and MIS reporting.
- Communicate textbook information with librarians and schedulers.
- Support faculty with OER (Open Educational Resources) accessibility, for example creating alt text, checking closed captioning, etc.
- Work with Excel and Microsoft Office programs.
- OTHER JOB DUTIES
- Plans, coordinates, and conducts activities and/or programs
- Serves as a liaison between Mendocino College and appropriate stakeholders
- Disseminates information on program
- Participates in department meetings, provides information and/or reports on relevant issues
- Assists, follows up, and supports stakeholders regarding program processes and sourcing other available programs and services
- Prepares and maintains a variety of correspondence, reports, documents, and forms; maintains and organizes records and files
- Keeps all necessary records and submits required paperwork in a timely manner
- Operates a variety of office equipment including a computer and Microsoft Office software
- Attends required meetings and professional development sessions as directed by the manager
None. May provide work direction to student workers and/or volunteers.
Working ConditionsOffice environment; subject to interruptions and distractions. Physical demands include sitting, reaching, bending, walking, standing for long periods, and light lifting (up to 25 lbs). Repetitive motion based on computer/filing practices may be required. Occasional outdoor environmental exposure including events and/or special projects. Must meet Human Resources guidelines for qualified hiring, including a Live Scan background check and completion of TB test.
Must have at least two years of experience in an administrative/educational environment.
AA required, BA preferred.
Licenses and CertificationsEmployee must possess a valid Class C driver's license and an acceptable driving record. Must have access to a personal vehicle (subject to mileage reimbursement) that can safely drive throughout Lake and Mendocino Counties.
