About the Role
Mendocino-Lake Community College District is currently accepting applications for Tutors. Multiple positions are available throughout the school year. This is a temporary, non-continuing position that supports students in academic excellence.
Responsibilities- Provides tutoring services to students based on their education and professional experience.
- Assists college students with academic success strategies.
- Supports students to become more independent learners, persist in college, and reach their goals.
- Provides individual and/or group tutoring across a broad range of courses based on personal area of expertise.
- Meets with students to clarify and review concepts taught in class, explain processes, and help solve specific problems.
- Supports classroom‑centered activities, with the emphasis and content determined by the student’s needs.
- Works with colleagues and the Program Director to support professional development.
Professional Expert, temporary, hourly position – 4 to 10 hours per week, $20.00–$22.00 per hour.
Education & Qualifications- High School Diploma or GED equivalent required; AA preferred.
- Must meet Human Resources guidelines, including a live scan background check and completion of a TB test.
- Must have sufficient subject‑matter expertise pertaining to the academic area of instruction.
- Proof of eligibility to work in the United States required.
- Fingerprinting and background clearance required; TB test required upon hire and every four years thereafter.
- Completes required district trainings such as Sexual Harassment Prevention within six months of employment.
- Proof of eligibility to work in the United States is required.
- Fingerprinting through DOJ and FBI and background clearance required.
- TB test required upon hire and every four years thereafter.
