Position SummaryThis role provides leadership and coordination for Worship and Youth Ministries, ensuring meaningful, Christ-centered experiences for the congregation and younger members of the church.
AccountabilityThe Worship and Youth Ministries Intern reports to the Senior Pastor/Head of Staff, and works with the Worship and Christian Education Elders.
Job SummaryThis position requires strong collaboration, organizational skills, and a heart for ministry, supporting both worship life and youth engagement within the church community.
In Worship Ministry, the position oversees all aspects of worship services, including music, audio-visual elements, and service planning. Responsibilities include supervising, leading instrumentally and supporting worship team members, collaborating with pastors to design services, coordinating volunteers, and ensuring high-quality in-person and streamed worship. The role also includes organizing rehearsals, maintaining instruments, and providing or arranging music for special services and events.
In Youth Ministry, the role partners with church leadership to develop and lead programs for youth and young adults. This includes planning educational and outreach activities, recruiting and training volunteers, fostering relationships with youth and families, and ensuring adherence to safety policies. The position also supports children’s programming, promotes events, manages supplies and budget input, and works to align all youth activities with the church’s mission.
Performs other duties as assigned.

- Ability to work collaboratively with pastors, staff, elders, volunteers, youth, and families in a positive and respectful manner.
- Strong organizational, communication, and leadership skills, with the ability to manage multiple responsibilities effectively.
- Experience or demonstrated ability in worship leadership, music coordination, and/or audio-visual technology.
- Experience working with youth and young adults in a ministry or educational setting preferred.
- Ability to recruit, train, and support volunteers.
- Willingness to work flexible hours, including Sundays, evenings, and special church events.
- Familiarity with or willingness to learn current trends in Christian worship and youth ministry.
- Basic administrative and technology skills (e.g., planning tools, communication platforms, presentation software).
- Must successfully complete and comply with the church’s Child, Youth, and Vulnerable Adult Protection (“Safe Church”) policies, including any required background checks and training.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality, demonstrate sound judgment, and uphold professional boundaries.
The Family Life and Worship Lead’s duties are expected to require approximately forty (40) hours per week. The working of additional hours must have prior approval of the Senior Pastor/Head of Staff and so noted on the timecard. Hours will be paid from the signed and approved timecard only.
Work hours:
Sunday worship services 9:00am to 11:30 am
Weekly music rehearsals 5:00pm to 7:00 pm
Weekly Youth Group Meetings currently 5:00-7:30, with additional hours due to special events, like retreats, service projects, etc.
Office Hours will be determined with input from Senior Pastor/Head of Staff
Additional hours to meet with pastor(s) and develop worship orders and music sets.
EvaluationThis position will receive periodic performance reviews conducted by their Senior Pastor/Head of Staff with input from the Christian Education Elder, Worship Elder and Personnel Ministry Elder. Your first performance evaluation will take place after six months. Subsequent performance evaluations will be conducted annually or on an as needed basis. The frequency of performance evaluations may vary depending upon length of service, job position, past performance, changes in job duties, or recurring performance problems.
The Person nel Ministry Team shall review the adequacy of compensation annually.
