Assignments are part‑time hourly contracts, not exceeding 67% of a full‑time load. Salary is based on total contract hours at rates of $70.64 to $103.39.

• Instruct courses in the discipline applied for
• Conduct classes and finals as scheduled
• Prepare classroom presentations, activities, and assignments
• Teach class hours and evaluate student performance with quizzes, exams, projects, and others
• Prepare a syllabus and distribute it to students at the first meeting
• Report on time and ready for classes; post and maintain student contact hours
• Maintain current knowledge of the discipline and teaching practices
• Submit accurate and timely student reports

HST‑205, HST‑201, HST‑202, HST‑203, HST‑206, HST‑208, and additional courses listed in the Mendocino College Catalog.

• Minimum qualifications as specified in the California Community Colleges Chancellor’s Office guidelines
• Sensitivity to diverse academic, socioeconomic, cultural, disability, geographical, and ethnic backgrounds
• Must meet HR hiring guidelines, including a Live Scan background check and TB test completion
• Knowledge of current theories of history and related teaching practices; familiarity with community college mission
• Ability to effectively instruct assigned courses, evaluate and develop curriculum, assess student progress, maintain records, communicate verbally and in writing, collaborate with colleagues, and teach at variable locations and hours, including evenings, weekends, and online

• Completed online application

• Resume/CV with education, experience, professional organizations, and accomplishments
• Three professional or academic references (no personal references)
• Photocopies of all transcripts; foreign transcript evaluation if applicable
