Clinical Staff Pharmacist – Acute Care Hospital (13-Week Contract)
OverviewA well-established community hospital in northern California is seeking a Clinical Staff Pharmacist for a 13-week acute-care assignment. This role supports medication verification, sterile and non-sterile preparation, clinical reviews, and collaboration with the inpatient care team. The position offers competitive weekly compensation and the chance to contribute to high-quality patient care within a supportive hospital environment.
Key Responsibilities- Provide comprehensive clinical and operational pharmacy services within an acute-care hospital
- Verify medication orders for accuracy, safety, and therapeutic appropriateness
- Prepare, compound, and dispense medications in accordance with regulatory standards
- Monitor pharmacotherapy plans and adjust based on labs, patient status, and clinical guidelines
- Participate in interdisciplinary rounds and collaborate with medical, nursing, and ancillary teams
- Perform medication reconciliation and support transitions-of-care workflows
- Respond to medication-related inquiries from providers and clinical staff
- Document clinical interventions and maintain accurate pharmacy records
- Ensure compliance with internal policies, formulary guidelines, and quality standards
- Support antimicrobial stewardship and other clinical initiatives as assigned
- Active, unrestricted California Pharmacist License
- Pharm
D or BS Pharmacy required
Recent acute‑care or community hospital pharmacy experience strongly preferred - Knowledge of sterile compounding, EMR systems, and hospital medication‑use processes
- Strong communication, clinical judgment, and problem‑solving abilities
This is a 13-week full-time assignment based in northern California within a community acute-care hospital. Weekly pay range is $3,000–$3,300. Specific shift details will be discussed during the interview process.
