Position: Travel Registered Nurse L&D Job

Overview

Registered Nurse - Labor & Delivery, Ukiah, California. Travel - temporary assignment starting 07/20/2026 for 13 weeks. Weekly pay: $2,254–$2,378 per week. Guaranteed hours: 0.0. Shift: 3x12-hour Day shifts (0700–1930). Setting:
Short Term Acute Care Hospital. This assignment is for an experienced L&D RN with NICU-level responsibilities and Cerner EMR usage.

Responsibilities
  • Provide direct nursing care for laboring patients, including initial assessment, ongoing monitoring, pain management, and supportive care during active labor
  • Monitor fetal status using external and internal monitors; recognize and respond to non-reassuring fetal heart rate patterns in collaboration with the obstetric team
  • Assist with labor and delivery procedures, including supportive care during vaginal births and operative deliveries as trained; perform postpartum and newborn care as needed
  • Administer medications and therapies per order sets; support lactation and maternal education while preparing for discharge planning
  • Work closely with obstetricians, anesthesia, neonatal care, and nursing leadership; participate in rapid response to obstetric emergencies and neonatal events
  • Document all patient assessments, interventions, and outcomes in the Cerner EMR; ensure accurate charting and appropriate handoffs
  • Maintain readiness for Level 2 NICU newborn stabilization and collaborate with NICU staff for transfers when required
Requirements
  • Current California RN license (active)
  • Certifications:

    Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP), Intermediate Fetal Monitoring, ACLS, and BLS required
  • Experience:

    Labor and delivery nursing experience required; NICU experience required;
    Level 2 NICU experience preferred
  • Education:

    Graduation from an accredited nursing program; BSN preferred
  • Additional:
    Cerner EMR experience required; ability to work in a Labor & Delivery setting with NICU involvement
