Outpatient oncology clinic within a short-term acute care hospital - No on-call required
- Deliver direct nursing care to oncology outpatients using the nursing process: assessment, diagnosis, planning, implementation, and evaluation
- Administer prescribed therapies and supportive care, monitor patient responses, manage symptoms and adverse effects, and document care accurately
- Collect relevant patient data, develop individualized care plans, coordinate with physicians, pharmacists, social workers, and other members of the care team; provide patient and family education
- Prepare patient, room, and equipment for procedures and assist with minor procedures as directed; participate in discharge planning to ensure continuity of care
- Supervise and direct activities of assigned nursing staff across levels; delegate tasks appropriately and ensure safe, high-quality care
- Maintain safety, infection control, and regulatory compliance; ensure thorough and accurate charting
- Active RN license in California (Required)
- Basic Life Support (BLS) or CPR certification from an approved vendor (Required)
- Oncology Nursing Society (ONS) certification (Required)
- ONCC-CHIM or equivalent oncology certification (Required)
- 2–3 years of recent oncology nursing experience (Required)
- BSN preferred; ability to work in an outpatient oncology clinic setting; strong communication and teamwork skills
