MEP Construction Superintendent - Sabey Construction, Inc
At Sabey Construction Inc. (SCI), located in Umatilla, OR, we are building a ground‑up data center where precision, safety, and quality matter most. We need an experienced MEP Construction Superintendent eager to take ownership of all mechanical, electrical, and plumbing activities from design to commissioning on a fast‑track, design‑build project.
Key Responsibilities- Lead day‑to‑day oversight of MEP construction to align with design, budget, and schedule.
- Coordinate, supervise, and enforce productivity, quality, and contract compliance for subcontractors and vendors.
- Develop and maintain construction schedules, proactively identifying and communicating impacts.
- Manage material delivery logistics and uphold site security and loss‑prevention measures.
- Enforce safety policies and promote a strong safety culture across field operations.
- Facilitate weekly subcontractor coordination meetings and clear communication across trades.
- Support commissioning and ensure MEP systems meet performance and reliability standards.
- Partner with facility operations teams to adhere to Methods of Procedure (MOPs).
- Monitor subcontractor performance to minimize punch‑list items and close pre‑punch and final punch in coordination with stakeholders.
- Review invoices and change orders, making recommendations to project leadership.
- Document field changes, as‑built conditions, and daily construction progress.
- 10+ years of field experience in commercial construction with supervisory responsibility.
- 5+ years of hands‑on experience managing MEP scopes in complex construction environments.
- High School Diploma or GED.
- Strong knowledge of construction scheduling and fast‑track project delivery.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, Teams) and scheduling tools.
- Excellent communication skills and ability to lead subcontractors across multiple trades.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to high‑quality, safety‑first work.
- Ability to prioritize tasks without compromising safety or quality.
- Customer‑focused mindset and professionalism when interacting with clients, tenants, and partners.
- Willingness to adopt and leverage new technologies, including AI tools.

CompensationThe anticipated annual base salary range for this position is $128,283 – $192,425.
