Generator Service Technician

Job Overview

AWS Infrastructure Services is looking for a Generation Service Technician to support data center operations in the PDX AWS Gov Cloud region. The role focuses on maintaining and repairing electrical generator systems and engine mechanical components, providing excellent customer service, and ensuring continuous data center uptime.

• Perform preventative maintenance, troubleshooting, and vendor management for generator systems.
• Follow all Company safety rules and maintain a safe, clean, and orderly work area.
• Respond to customer requests and serve as the primary customer support contact.
• Travel to designated sites and perform professional quality field service repairs.
• Advise the Generator Service Manager on parts needed for repairs and keep the Manager continually apprised.
• Document detailed, complete, and legible descriptions of all repair operations performed.
• Accurately record time, expenses, and mileage.
• Travel 80-90% of the time in an assigned region; may work overtime, weekends, holidays, or on short notice.
• Lift up to 40 lbs frequently, pushing and pulling a maximum force of 40 lbs.
• Wear Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) including Protective Glasses, Protective Gloves, and Protective Footwear.

• 1+ year of experience in electrical or mechanical maintenance, or 1+ year in data center or mission‑critical facilities.
• High school diploma or equivalent.

• 2+ years of data center engineering experience.
