Position: Data Center Technical Operations Engineer III. Job in Umatilla Lily Lifestyle Jobs

Responsibilities

As the Operations Engineer you will provide testing and validation oversight of data center electrical and mechanical infrastructure in existing operational facilities. This includes review of as‑built documents and equipment submittals and managing third‑party commissioning vendors in the performance of onsite functional and integrated systems testing. You will own your projects’ successes, resolve technical issues, and address schedule impacts and coordination demands onsite with a bias for action.

You will share lessons learned to foster team growth and program improvements.

You will contribute multi‑discipline input into the scheduling test script development, designing and planning retro commissioning projects. During commissioning you will audit vendors’ activities to ensure compliance with environmental quality and safety requirements while minimizing impact to operational data centers. You will report retro commissioning progress and metrics to the Regional Commissioning Manager and manage project budgets as approved by Finance, leading several projects simultaneously to achieve key milestones and optimized data center performance.

Basic Qualifications
  • 5 years of engineering installation or startup/commissioning experience of electrical and mechanical systems.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical/Electrical Engineering or 5 years of relevant discipline work experience.
  • High technical competency in either mechanical or electrical or control systems used in critical infrastructures, with willingness to learn the others.
  • Ability to understand design concepts by reviewing mechanical or electrical design documentation, drawings, specifications, vendor submittals, and sequences of operations.
  • Experience developing or reviewing commissioning documentation such as test plans, scripts, and reports to ensure accuracy and compliance with design requirements.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook) and advanced SharePoint or similar.
  • Strong communication skills, detail oriented, highly organized, and able to maintain calm and respectful interaction with multiple teams in high‑stress environments.
  • Advanced knowledge of mechanical, electrical, and controls systems for critical infrastructures.
  • Ability to read and edit construction documents, design drawings, control diagrams, specifications, etc.
  • Experience developing and executing test procedures for mechanical or electrical systems/components based on design intent and approved equipment submittals.
Job Type & Location

This is a Contract position based out of Umatilla, OR.

Pay and Benefits

Pay range: $40.00 - $50.00 per hour.
