Controls Deployment Engineer, AMER US West Deployment; AWS

AWS Infrastructure Services owns the design, planning, delivery, and operation of all AWS global infrastructure. We support all AWS data centers and all of the servers, storage, networking, power, and cooling equipment that ensures customers have continual access to the innovations they rely on. This role is part of the Global Controls team and works with engineers, supply chain specialists, and operations managers to deliver high quality data center automation.

As a Controls Deployment Engineer you will:

• Manage scope and schedule of BMS and EPMS vendors during construction of AWS data centers.
• Develop scope of work for site improvement projects.
• Manage multiple stakeholder deliverables, navigate complex situations, and report status to Controls Management.
• Review controls sequence of operation and provide feedback to design.
• Financially manage BMS and EPMS construction contracts and assist in procurement activities, including RFQs, RFIs, vendor proposals, and purchase orders.
• Perform comprehensive review of various BMS and EPMS submittals.
• Participate in AWS global on‑call schedule to provide immediate BMS and EPMS technical support to in‑service data centers.
• Ensure BMS and EPMS systems are deployed in accordance with scope of work and specifications.
• Review and provide feedback on mechanical, electrical, and plumbing drawings.
• Attend project related meetings, coordinate with project leaders, and interpret controls drawings and wiring diagrams.
• Understand and modify controls logic programming and graphical user interface.
• Support controls related commissioning activities in the field and supervise vendor work to ensure compliance with design, submittals, and local electrical codes (NEC, etc.).

Basic Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field.
• 2+ years of vendor management experience.
• In lieu of a degree, 8+ years of relevant experience in mechanical or electrical discipline plus 3+ years of experience with industrial controls in a critical environment (data center, pharmaceutical, manufacturing, oil & gas, petrochemical, laboratory, power, water, etc.).

Preferred Qualifications:

• 3+ years of construction or project management experience.
• Experience using common industrial communication protocols (MQTT, BACnet, and/or MODBUS).
• Demonstrated understanding of engineering documentation, electrical and mechanical diagrams, and standard operating procedures.
• Ability to manage multiple stakeholder deliverables, navigate difficult situations.
• Prior AWS/Amazon experience.

The base salary range for this position is $96,000.00 – $ USD annually. Your Amazon package will include sign‑on payments and restricted stock units. Final compensation will be determined based on experience, qualifications, and location.
