We are expanding our decommissioning team and are looking for a proven cable technician with strong technical understanding of network and infrastructure. The Network & Cable Decommissioning (NCD) team will hire a motivated, self-driven decommissioning technician who will work closely with project managers, network engineers, and operations teams to recover cabling infrastructure and sanitize legacy abandoned cable. The NCD Tech will execute assigned tasks and communicate status updates.
The team’s primary focus is to reclaim capacity for customers by safely removing decommissioned legacy network equipment and old cabling infrastructure to enable a life cycle approach for the physical layer of the data center network and maximize DC space utilization.
Key Responsibilities- Physical decommissioning of network and cabling infrastructure in a data center environment
- Manage assigned work and priorities through ticketing system and/or workflows
- Provide status updates to stakeholders via ticketing system
- Coordinate and deliver multiple tasks concurrently
- Maintain quality workmanship and data center cleanliness
- Leverage provided logical tools and systems
- Follow production, safety and quality standards, codes, and best practices
- Collaborate with stakeholders to remove obstacles
- Read and comprehend data center build documentation and site layout materials
- Travel within geographical work area up to 25%; travel outside primary region may be required
- Scope efforts, validate readiness for decommissioning, create change requests, and execute work timely
- Document all efforts via ticketing system
- Work at heights safely (ladders, scaffolding, aerial lifts) per safety protocols
Basic Qualifications
- 1+ years of computer networking experience
- 1+ years of Linux operating systems experience
- Experience in computer networking
- Experience working with Linux operating systems
- Can lift and rack equipment up to 40 pounds
- Experience with computer hardware troubleshooting and repair
- Ability to work in cramped spaces or elevated locations while adhering to health and safety guidelines
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience dealing effectively with customers during problem resolution and operating under pressure
- Experience managing work and priorities through a ticketing system
- Experience with cabling infrastructure best practices and methodologies
- Experience working in a data center environment (racking and stacking gear, cable management, hot/cold aisle containment)

The base salary range for this position is listed below. Your Amazon package will include sign-on payments and RSUs. Final compensation will be determined based on factors including experience, qualifications, and location.
