Network Engineer

Amazon is looking for a Network Deploy Technician to join our growing team within infrastructure operations. You will work with minimum supervision in a dynamic environment to drive the stability and sustainability of our next-generation networks and assist in the development of innovative ways to automate and scale our network.
Key Responsibilities- Scale support of several data center locations and day‑to‑day capacity management.
- Assist in the development of innovative ways to automate and scale our network.
- Leverage experience supporting large‑scale, enterprise‑class networks, network implementation, and troubleshooting.
- Work independently in a dynamic environment to drive the stability and sustainability of next‑generation networks.
- Provide management and support of AWS’ vast network infrastructure, establish and follow best practices, and refine operational procedures.
- Prioritize and manage work through ticketing system and workflows.
- Collaborate with stakeholders to remove project obstacles.
- Troubleshoot networking, routing, and interconnectivity issues, including device configuration and low‑level application interaction.
- Troubleshoot cabling infrastructure connectivity issues, patch panels, and patch cords.
- Specify power and cooling requirements; ensure hardware racking/stacking of new equipment.
- Participate in migration, basic configuration, and rollout of new or upgraded hardware.
- Lift and/or move up to 40 pounds; participate in group lifts for 41+ pounds.
- Work in a 24/7 environment; participate in primary responder rotation and after‑hours support as needed.
- Operate in cramped, elevated, and/or noisy environments.
- Bend, lift, stretch, reach, stand, and walk for up to 8+ hours a day.
- Ascend and descend ladders, stairs, and gangways safely.
Up to 20% travel within geographical work area required. Some travel outside traditional work area, including internationally, may be requested. Traveling within and outside regional work area is required. Candidates must have a reliable personal vehicle and valid driver’s license; company transportation will not be provided.

Required Experience and Qualifications- High school or equivalent diploma.
- Data center experience and industry‑standard certifications (CompTIA, CCENT, Network+).
- Experience with common tools for network troubleshooting (VFLs, OTDR, power meters).
- Understanding of infrastructure technologies (routers, switches, load balancers, firewalls).
- Knowledge of major command‑line protocols (Cisco IOS, JunOS, GNU/Linux) and networking protocols (BGP, OSPF).

Compensation and BenefitsUSA, OR, Umatilla – $30.00 – $54.00 USD hourly. Your Amazon package includes sign‑on payments and restricted stock units (RSUs). Final compensation will be determined based on experience, qualifications, and location.
