NW Deployment Build Mgr II, Global Network Deployment

Job :  | Amazon Data Services, Inc.

AWS Infrastructure Services owns the design, planning, delivery, and operation of all AWS global infrastructure. We support all AWS data centers and all of the servers, storage, networking, power, and cooling equipment that ensure our customers have continual access to the innovation they rely on. You’ll join a diverse team of software, hardware, and network engineers, supply chain specialists, security experts, operations managers, and other vital roles to help deliver the highest standards for safety, security, and capacity at the lowest possible cost.

Amazon’s network is a key differentiator for AWS, enabling the global operation of thousands of applications across a highly complex global infrastructure. The Global Network Delivery (GND) team is responsible for structured cabling, hardware deployment, and hardware commissioning related to network deployment during the initial phase of a data center. As Build Manager, you will lead a team of network engineers and own end‑to‑end delivery of Network Infrastructure, including Safety, Scheduling, Standards, and Implementation for new builds across the AMER region.

Responsibilities
  • Plan, configure, and deploy network infrastructure in new AWS data centers.
  • Drive strategy to innovate and optimize new deployments while instilling operational excellence in tools and processes.
  • Own all aspects of people management, including hiring, coaching, and performance management.
  • Collaborate with engineering, operations, and senior leadership on new solutions and designs.
  • Ensure the right resources and structure are in place to proactively stay ahead of capacity demands and maintain cycle time, quality, and staff efficiency.
  • Deliver network capacity on time with zero rework, demonstrating safety and standards compliance.
Basic Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in a relevant field.
  • 3+ years of program management experience in infrastructure builds.
  • Experience in technical management and people development.
  • Proven track record managing difficult, cross‑functional infrastructure builds independently.
  • Experience working across multiple teams and managing programs end‑to‑end.
  • Ability to manage trade‑offs: time vs. scope vs. cost.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Robust technical understanding of network infrastructure and deployment processes.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent professional certifications or military experience in an IT‑related field (e.g., computer science, network engineering). Certifications such as PMP, CCNA, Network+, Security+ are preferred.
  • Functional knowledge of network design, and Layer 2/3 networking concepts.
  • Experience conducting interviews and making effective hiring decisions.
  • Ability to propose regional or global projects leveraging technical and management experience.
