This full-time, on-site Diesel Technician role is based in Sandpoint,  Diesel Technician is responsible for inspecting, diagnosing, and repairing school buses and other company vehicles to ensure safe and efficient operation. Daily tasks include performing routine and preventive maintenance, conducting troubleshooting on mechanical and electrical systems, and completing maintenance and repair work in accordance with company and regulatory standards. The role also involves documenting work performed, maintaining a clean and organized work area, collaborating with other technicians and supervisors, and communicating clearly with operations staff regarding vehicle status and repair needs.

• Strong skills in Vehicle Maintenance and Maintenance & Repair for diesel-powered buses and related equipment.
• Ability to perform comprehensive Preventive Maintenance to ensure safety, reliability, and regulatory compliance.
• Proficiency in Troubleshooting mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic systems using diagnostic tools and service manuals.
• Customer Service skills to communicate effectively with internal stakeholders, including drivers, dispatch, and management.
• Previous experience as a diesel or automotive technician, preferably in fleet or commercial vehicle environments.
• Knowledge of DOT and school transportation safety standards is highly beneficial.
• Ability to lift and move heavy parts and equipment, and to work in various shop and outdoor conditions.
• High school diploma or equivalent; relevant technical training or certifications (e.g., ASE) are a plus.
• Strong attention to detail, reliability, and commitment to safety.
