• Source and procure fiber optic components, cable assemblies, and related materials to support production requirements.
• Negotiate pricing, lead times, and supplier agreements to maximize margin and ensure supply continuity.
• Review bills of materials (BOMs) for cost optimization, component availability, and part accuracy.
• Manage supplier relationships, monitor supplier performance, and resolve delivery or quality issues.
• Support demand planning, inventory management, and production scheduling activities.
• Analyze component shortages, market conditions, and supply risks while developing mitigation plans.
• Partner cross‑functionally with operations, engineering, sales, and planning teams to support customer delivery commitments.
• Drive continuous improvement initiatives related to procurement, planning, and inventory optimization.
• Maintain accurate purchasing, forecasting, and reporting data within ERP/MRP systems.

• Strong experience in purchasing, procurement, or commodity buying within the fiber optics, optical connectivity, networking hardware, or related electronics manufacturing industry.
• Direct experience sourcing fiber optic components is strongly preferred and considered essential for success in this role.
• Knowledge of BOM structures, inventory control, supply planning, and supplier management.
• Strong negotiation, analytical, and problem‑solving skills.
• Experience working in fast‑paced manufacturing or production environments.
• Proficiency with ERP/MRP systems and advanced Excel skills.
• Excellent communication and cross‑functional collaboration abilities.
• Bachelor’s degree preferred or equivalent industry experience.
• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Business Management, Supply Chain Management, or a closely related field from an accredited institution.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to communicate professionally with vendors/customers when English is their second language.
