The Computer Numerical Controlled (CNC) Programmer develops CNC programs for both Vertical and Horizontal machining centers. The Programmer produces set up sheets including part orientation, work holding and tool selection. The position is part of the Machine Shop Operation and interacts across department functions and across functions within the Company.

• Create numerical control programs to control machining of parts on CNC machine tools.
• Analyze GD&T, sketches, and design data to determine optimal tool paths.
• Use CAD (Mastercam, Solid Works, Fusion) software to determine and show location of reference points and direction of cutting paths.
• Write setup sheets to guide setup and operation of machine.
• Revise CNC programs to eliminate instruction errors and reduce run time.
• Observe operation of machine on trial run to prove programmed instructions.
• Responsible for cleanliness, organization, and overall Machine Shop department appearance.

• Understand, follow and support Mizuho OSI’s internal Quality System policies, procedures and work instructions including but not limited to applicable external regulations (21 Code of Federal Regulations Part 820 Quality System Regulations and applicable International Standards).

• High school diploma and at least 2 years of related experience.
• Must have experience and proficiency in 3 and 4 axis programming in Mastercam and/or Autodesk Fusion. Fluent knowledge and understanding 5 axis programming is preferred.
• Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry. Good working knowledge of geometric dimensioning and tolerancing required and able to work in both Metric and imperial units.
• Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
• Must have trouble‑shouting skills for tool deflection and chatter; able to maximize cutting speeds and feeds to prolong cutter life and reduce run time.
• Able to use micrometers, depth gauges and calipers and other metrology equipment.
• Must be willing to be trained in Six Sigma practices to obtain a White, Yellow and/or Green Belt according to Programmer Level.
• Must be willing to work any scheduled shifts as appropriate and based on business needs.

• Excellent computer skills including operating Windows based personal computers, various office equipment and machines, and telephone system. Ability to efficiently and effectively use Microsoft products such as Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
