This role partners closely with the Maintenance Manager to plan and execute short to mid-term maintenance and improvement projects, serving as a Project Lead overseeing all phases from planning through completion. The position coordinates with cross-functional leaders to ensure tasks are completed efficiently and on schedule, provides engineering and technical leadership for process improvement and automation initiatives, and identifies cost-saving opportunities.
It also plays an active role in plant safety and ergonomics, supports preventive maintenance program development, and steps in for the Maintenance Manager as needed.

- Lead and coordinate maintenance personnel in partnership with the Maintenance Manager; serve as acting lead in the manager’s absence.
- Communicate effectively across all levels to drive process improvements, operational change, and safety initiatives.
- Provide technical and engineering leadership for productivity, process improvement, automation, and manufacturing efficiency projects.
- Lead and manage projects from concept through installation, including timelines, budgets, documentation, and execution.
- Identify and implement cost-saving and productivity initiatives using Lean Manufacturing and Kaizen methodologies.
- Support manufacturing operations through process development, equipment automation, and technology upgrades.
- Evaluate manufacturing systems, equipment, and processes to ensure effectiveness, reliability, and continuous improvement.
- Prepare capital project justifications, cost analyses, and authorization documentation.
- Serve as a consultant and trainer for manufacturing process technology and operational improvements.
- Lead and support automation, process control systems, and production equipment including PLCs, packaging, conveying, and pneumatic systems.
- Develop and implement process data analysis methods to measure plant performance and quality outcomes.
Qualifications:
- AutoCAD experience is required
- Experience with Microsoft Office applications
- Food industry experience is a plus
- Strong leadership skills with the ability to guide and coach groups of individuals.
- Good communication and human relations skills
- Eagerness to work in a team environment
