Occupational Health Nurse Practitioner

Full-time, ongoing contract opportunity with Yoh’s manufacturing client located in Union City, CA. The clinic offers occupational and preventative care for employees, and you will typically be the only provider/medical professional onsite. The position focuses on protecting individuals from occupational and environmental hazards, preventing illness and injury, and promoting health.

Monday‑Friday 9:00 am to 5:30 pm.

• Assessment, triage, treatment, and education for employee health concerns.
• Medical surveillance: hearing conservation, spirometry, respirator fit testing, phlebotomy, etc.
• Onsite physical assessments (pre‑placement, return‑to‑work, fitness‑for‑duty).
• Ambulatory care such as treating sore throats, ear aches, rashes, pink eye, etc.
• Review and interpret clinical results and reports, including history/physical, EKG, lab work, spirometry, and audiograms.
• Provide onsite testing for strep pharyngitis, UTI, influenza, hyper‑ and hypoglycemia.
• Work collaboratively to recognize environmental hazards and/or stresses that may cause sickness or impaired health among workers, and develop preventive measures.
• Provide support and case management for work‑related and non‑work‑related conditions to reduce illness and absenteeism.
• Respond to medical emergencies onsite and provide emergency medical care as needed.

• Active/unrestricted Nurse Practitioner (ANP/FNP) license in the state of California, and willingness to obtain for other states if needed.
• Current prescription authority (DEA preferred).
• Minimum of 5 years’ experience as a NP.
• Previous experience in occupational/employee health, emergency medicine, urgent care, corrections, primary care, or family practice type setting.
• Confident with drawing blood.
• Nationally certified (ANCC or AANP).
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS).
• Trained in spirometry (NIOSH Certified).
• Certified for audiometry testing (CAOHC/COHC).
• Computer skills with prior experience using EMR; experience with Cority a plus.
• Strong interpersonal skills for interviewing, teaching, and counseling patients, and interacting with clients/employers.

Estimated Minimum Rate: $75.00 per hour. Estimated Maximum Rate: $83.00 per hour. Weekly direct deposit every Friday.
