Naph Care is hiring a Registered Nurse (RN) to join our team of medical professionals in Union Springs, AL, where we manage all aspects of healthcare for inmates at Bullock Correctional Facility.
As a Correctional Registered Nurse (RN), you will work with correctional officers and other medical professionals to provide care to residents in a controlled environment. Duties include performing physical assessments, administering medications, managing chronic illnesses, and responding to emergencies.

Responsibilities- Perform initial health screenings and physical assessments of newly detained individuals.
- Monitor and document patient health including vital signs and medical histories.
- Provide direct patient care, triage, assess patient needs, develop care plans, and coordinate services.
- Manage acute and chronic conditions such as asthma, hypertension, and diabetes.
- Respond to medical emergencies, provide first aid, and ensure timely transport to appropriate healthcare facilities.
- Educate patients on preventative care, healthy lifestyle choices, and substance abuse prevention.
- Understand and adhere to correctional facility security protocols while working closely with correctional officers and other healthcare professionals to ensure the safety and well‑being of patients.
- Maintain accurate medical records, document treatment plans, and report any relevant information.
- Holds a current, unrestricted license as a Registered Nurse within the state of AL.
- Must possess an active BLS CPR Certification (AHA preferred).
- Knowledge of nursing practice principles, occupational health and safety standards, infectious disease management, applicable health care laws, regulations, and procedures for direct health care services.
- Excellent communication, organizational, and problem‑solving skills.
- Able to work independently and in a team.
- Flexible schedule and availability to work overtime when needed.
- Ability to interact effectively with patients from diverse backgrounds, including those with mental health or substance abuse issues.
- Must maintain confidentiality of proprietary and/or confidential information and adhere to a code of conduct and facility policies.
- Must pass the facility’s criminal background check and drug screening.
Must be able to stand for long periods, lift and move patients (up to 50 pounds), bend, squat, reach, push, pull, walk significant distances, and perform physically demanding tasks like CPR while maintaining balance and endurance throughout a shift.
