School Office Assistant - Missouri Department of Elementary and Secondary Education
Salary: $20,376 - $37,152. This is the base salary; applicants eligible for years‑of‑service adjustments or shift differentials may exceed this range.
What you’ll do:- Type, utilizing a computer keyboard, with competency in Microsoft Office (Word, Access, Outlook).
- Maintain moderately complex databases to provide accurate information for management.
- Review documents and reports to ensure work product meets established standards.
- Assist staff with completing forms to provide service.
- Complete expense and other financial forms to process reimbursement or payment requests.
- File, copy, and organize correspondence and other records.
- Open, sort, process, and distribute mail.
- Answer telephone, take messages, and route calls efficiently.
- Greet and welcome visitors, determine nature of business, and direct visitors to the appropriate person.
- Order and inventory supplies.
- Accurately complete required reports on or before established deadlines.
- Maintain confidentiality of parent, student, and staff personally identifiable information.
- Participate in staff development activities to keep secretarial skills updated.
- Maintain CPR, AED, and First Aid certification as specified by MSSD.
- Utilize each student’s individual communication system.
- High School diploma or G.E.D.
- Supplemental secretarial practice, bookkeeping, and computer application courses preferred.
- Other qualifications and experience that the Commissioner of Education deems equivalent may be accepted in lieu of the above.
