Site Superintendent - Custom Residential Construction

A well-established and highly respected custom residential builder is seeking an experienced Site Superintendent to join their team immediately. This is an urgent opening with an opportunity to become part of a close-knit organization that places craftsmanship, integrity and quality above everything else.
This is NOT a production homebuilding position. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience managing true custom homes and/or high-end residential renovations.
Project Profile:
- Custom homes averaging approximately $750K
- Typically 6-10 active projects
- High-end renovations up to approximately $2.5M
- Projects located primarily within approximately one hour of the St. Louis area
- Strong emphasis on craftsmanship, quality and attention to detail
What You'll Do:
- Manage day-to-day field operations for custom homes and renovations
- Coordinate subcontractors, vendors and material deliveries
- Maintain project schedules and quality standards
- Identify and resolve field issues before they become costly problems
- Perform quality-control inspections throughout construction
- Maintain clean, safe and organized jobsites
- Communicate with homeowners, PMs, architects and trade partners
- Manage punch lists, inspections and final turnover
- Maintain accurate project documentation using Buildertrend
- Hold subcontractors accountable for schedule and quality
What We're Looking For:
- 5+ years of residential construction experience preferred
- Strong custom homebuilding experience highly preferred
- High-end renovation experience will be considered
- Candidates with approximately 3 years of the RIGHT custom/renovation experience may be considered
- Former construction company owners/operators encouraged to apply
- Strong understanding of residential construction sequencing and trades
- Excellent communication and organizational skills
- Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities
- Hands-on "doer" mentality
- Level-headed, dependable and solutions-oriented
- Strong commitment to quality and craftsmanship
- Production-home-only experience will NOT be considered
