Job Summary
The Early Childhood Learning Center Aide supports the classroom teacher in providing a safe, nurturing, faith-centered, and developmentally appropriate learning environment for young children. The aide assists with daily classroom activities, supervision, care routines, and implementation of the school's Catholic mission and values.
Job Responsibilities
- Assist the lead teacher with classroom instruction and learning activities
- Support children's social, emotional, physical, spiritual, and academic development
- Supervise students during classroom activities, recess, lunch, nap/rest time, and transitions
- Help maintain a clean, organized, and safe classroom environment
- Prepare classroom materials, learning centers, and instructional supplies
- Assist with behavior guidance using positive and age-appropriate methods
- Model Christian values, kindness, respect, and Catholic teachings in daily interactions
- Support prayer time, religious activities, and participation in school liturgies or faith-based events
- Help children with personal care needs as appropriate, including toileting, handwashing, and snack/lunch routines
- Maintain confidentiality regarding students, families, and school matters
- Communicate professionally with teachers, staff, and parents as directed
- Follow all diocesan, school, health, and safety policies and procedures
- Attend required staff meetings, trainings, and professional development sessions
Job Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent required; associate degree or coursework in early childhood education preferred
- Experience working with young children preferred
- Ability to work collaboratively with teachers and staff
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to supervise and engage children in a caring and positive manner
- Commitment to supporting the mission and values of Catholic education
- Completion of required background checks and safe environment training
Pre-Employment Screening
