We are seeking a hands‑on Manager of Finance & Accounting to serve as a strategic business partner and operational leader for a growing manufacturing organization in Union, MO. Reporting directly to the President, this role is ideal for someone who not only understands financial reporting and accounting operations, but also takes ownership of the numbers, proactively identifies opportunities and risks, and helps drive business decisions.
This is a highly visible leadership position where you'll work closely with operations, supply chain, production, and executive leadership while leading a small accounting team and influencing the financial direction of the business.
- Lead Financial Reporting & Analysis – Own monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reporting, budgeting, forecasting, variance analysis, and financial modeling while providing actionable insights to leadership.
- Drive Accounting Operations – Oversee month-end and year-end close processes, general ledger activity, reconciliations, financial statements, AP, AR, payroll support, and compliance with GAAP standards.
- Partner with Operations & Manufacturing – Collaborate with production, supply chain, and leadership teams to analyze costs, labor variances, inventory, work-in-process, and overall business performance.
- Develop Processes & Lead the Team – Mentor and support accounting staff while improving financial controls, reporting accuracy, process efficiency, and overall accountability across the department.
- 7+ years of progressive accounting and finance experience, including financial reporting, budgeting, forecasting, and month-end close responsibilities.
- Manufacturing accounting experience strongly preferred, including exposure to standard costing, inventory, labor variances, material burden, work-in-process (WIP), or cost accounting.
- Demonstrated leadership ability, whether through direct management experience or a proven track record of mentoring, influencing, and driving accountability within teams.
- Strong analytical and business acumen with the ability to interpret financial data, investigate discrepancies, identify trends, and confidently communicate recommendations to executive leadership.
Salary: $110,000+
