The Packer is responsible for inspecting, packaging, labeling, and preparing finished products for shipment while maintaining quality, productivity, and safety standards. This position works as part of a manufacturing team to ensure customer orders are packed accurately and efficiently according to company specifications.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities- Package finished products according to established work instructions, customer requirements, and quality standards.
- Inspect products for defects, damage, or nonconformance before packaging.
- Verify product counts and ensure accurate quantities are packed.
- Apply labels, tags, and other identifying information to finished goods and shipping containers.
- Assemble boxes, cartons, and packaging materials as needed.
- Maintain a clean and organized work area in accordance with housekeeping and safety standards.
- Identify and report quality concerns, equipment issues, or production problems to supervision.
- Follow all safety procedures, policies, and work instructions.
- Meet established production and efficiency goals.
- Assist with line changeovers and other production support activities as assigned.
- Accurately complete production and quality documentation.
- Work collaboratively with team members, machine operators, and supervisors to ensure production schedules are met.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
- High school diploma or GED preferred.
- Ability to read and follow written and verbal instructions.
- Basic math skills, including counting and verifying quantities.
- Ability to maintain attention to detail while performing repetitive tasks.
- Ability to work effectively in a team environment.
- Ability to meet attendance and punctuality requirements.
- Previous manufacturing, warehouse, packaging, or production experience.
- Experience working in a fast-paced production environment.
- Frequently stand and walk for extended periods throughout the shift.
- Regularly use hands and arms to handle, package, and move products.
- Frequently lift, carry, push, and pull up to 25 pounds.
- Occasionally lift up to 50 pounds with or without assistance.
- Ability to bend, stoop, reach, twist, and perform repetitive motions.
- Ability to work in a manufacturing environment with varying temperatures, noise levels, and moving equipment.
The work environment is a manufacturing facility where employees may be exposed to moving machinery, packaging equipment, dust, noise, and varying temperatures. Appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) must be worn as required.
