Location:

Union, NJ | Pay Rate: $29 - $31 per hour DOE |

Schedule:

Monday-Friday 8 AM - 4PM or 9AM - 5PM (on site then hybrid after 6 months)

Non‑profit mental health and behavioral health organization located in Union, NJ is in need of a Staff Accountant to join the team! This individual will support the accounting, payroll and grant reporting functions. It will play a key part in maintaining accurate financial records and ensuring compliance.

• Maintain accurate monthly financial records, including payroll, accounts receivable, expenses, and revenue.
• Reconcile general ledger accounts and prepare supporting documentation for audits and grants.
• Process accounts payable and receivable, invoices, employee expenses, and credit card transactions.
• Prepare grant expenditure and billing reports and support financial reporting requirements.
• Analyze vendor costs and ensure proper expense accruals.
• Process payroll using ADP Workforce Now and ensure compliance with state and federal wage and hour laws.
• Prepare payroll reports and payroll‑related journal entries and reconciliations.
• Assist with annual audits and special projects as needed.
• Support fiscal system improvements and use of Sage Intacct and Concur.
• Provide excellent customer service using respectful, person‑first communication.
• Maintain compliance with organizational policies, regulations, and ethical standards.
• Other duties as assigned.

• Experience with ADP Workforce Now
• A Bachelor's degree in Accounting, or related area, is required.
• Relevant work experience
• Knowledge of GAAP and payroll compliance
• Experience in nonprofit finance preferred
• Proficiency with MS Word Suite
