Forensic & Litigation Support Associate
Position SummaryThe Forensic & Litigation Support Associate assists in the execution of forensic accounting, litigation support, fraud investigation, economic damages, and business dispute engagements. Working under the supervision of Managers, Directors, and Partners, the Associate performs financial analyses, researches financial records, prepares supporting schedules, and assists with the development of reports and litigation-related deliverables.
This position offers an excellent opportunity for an accounting professional interested in combining accounting, finance, investigation, and litigation support services within a dynamic public accounting environment.
Key ResponsibilitiesForensic Accounting & Investigations (35%)
- Assist with forensic accounting engagements involving fraud investigations, asset tracing, employee misconduct, embezzlement, financial disputes, and other investigative matters.
- Gather, organize, and analyze financial records, bank statements, general ledgers, payroll information, tax returns, and supporting documentation.
- Identify financial irregularities, trends, and unusual transactions.
- Perform reconciliations and summarize investigative findings.
- Support internal control assessments and fraud risk evaluations.
Litigation Support & Financial Analysis (30%)
- Assist in the preparation of economic damages analyses, lost profits calculations, business interruption claims, and other litigation-related financial analyses.
- Analyze financial statements, accounting records, operational data, and industry information.
- Conduct research and compile information relevant to litigation matters.
- Assist attorneys and senior engagement team members with financial document reviews and discovery support.
- Calculate and summarize damages under the supervision of senior team members.
Report Preparation & Documentation (15%)
- Prepare schedules, exhibits, charts, graphs, and supporting work papers for client reports and expert witness engagements.
- Assist in drafting forensic accounting reports and litigation support analyses.
- Ensure work papers are properly documented, organized, and audit-ready.
- Maintain complete and accurate engagement files.
Data Analysis & Financial Modeling (10%)
