The Axel Group is seeking a Data Entry Clerk to join our client's team in Union County, New Jersey. Our client is a well-established, family-owned heavy civil contractor serving the New Jersey, New York, and Pennsylvania markets. With decades of industry experience, the company specializes in complex infrastructure projects, including underground utilities, roadway, bridge, and site development work, and has built a strong reputation for quality, safety, and long-term client relationships.

The Data Entry Clerk will play a vital role in supporting daily operations by managing project documentation, coordinating schedules, and ensuring information is accurately maintained across multiple systems. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, organized, and dependable, with strong administrative skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Accurately enter, update, and maintain project documentation within internal databases and state/regulatory systems
- Schedule site visits and coordinate with internal teams, field personnel, and homeowners
- Communicate with local municipalities and utility locating services to request utility markings and ensure all required notifications are completed prior to excavation
- Maintain organized project files and monitor the status of permits, documentation, and other project records
- Utilize Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, SharePoint, etc.) to manage data, prepare documentation, and communicate with internal and external stakeholders
- Provide administrative and project support to the operations team as needed
- Previous experience in data entry, administrative support, or a similar clerical role
- Strong typing skills with a high degree of accuracy and attention to detail
- Excellent organizational and time management skills
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel and Outlook
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment
- Experience supporting construction, engineering, utility, or municipal projects is a plus, but not required
- Hourly Rate: $20 - 24
