Key Responsibilities

  • Manage and continuously improve the Health, Safety, Environment (HSE) and Business Continuity (BC) management systems across the organization.
  • Implement and maintain global HSE and Operational Integrity standards at the country level, ensuring alignment with corporate requirements.
  • Develop, update, and oversee local HSE policies, procedures, guidelines, and operational instructions.
  • Monitor HSE performance through inspections, audits, KPI tracking, and performance reporting to management.
  • Support leadership in establishing HSE objectives and embedding them into business operations and strategic initiatives.
  • Ensure compliance with applicable legal requirements, industry regulations, and internal corporate standards.
  • Monitor developments in Hungarian and European Union HSE legislation and drive the implementation of necessary compliance measures.
  • Coordinate with regulatory authorities and facilitate external audits, inspections, and compliance reviews.
  • Identify workplace hazards, conduct risk assessments, and implement effective risk control and mitigation strategies.
  • Lead incident and accident investigations, perform root cause analysis, and ensure corrective and preventive actions are effectively implemented.
  • Design, deliver, and maintain HSE training and awareness programs for employees, contractors, and subcontractors.
  • Promote a proactive safety culture through employee engagement initiatives and leadership participation, including safety observations and site visits.
  • Deploy and maintain the global Business Continuity framework at the local level.
  • Develop, review, and update Business Continuity Plans (BCPs) to ensure organizational resilience.
  • Identify and classify critical business functions, processes, and operational sites.
  • Establish and coordinate crisis management structures and oversee response and recovery activities during disruptions.
  • Manage internal audit programs covering both HSE and Business Continuity requirements.
  • Coordinate global audits, self-assessments, compliance reviews, and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Track non-conformities and ensure timely implementation of corrective actions.
  • Prepare and present regular HSE and Business Continuity performance reports to local, regional, and global management teams.
  • Serve as the primary liaison with the global HSE and Business Continuity organization and facilitate effective stakeholder communication.
  • Collaborate with other HSE professionals to ensure clear responsibility allocation and efficient execution of tasks.
  • Oversee service providers and contracts related to HSE activities, including vendor performance management and contract renewals.
  • Conduct audits within the Business Assurance division and support certification-related activities.
  • Coordinate with clients regarding audit requirements and maintain audit-related documentation.
  • Work closely with international affiliates on certification processes and compliance matters.
  • Support auditor-related activities as assigned by the Business Assurance Business Manager.
  • Facilitate the implementation and communication of Global Technical Governance and Safe Talk initiatives across relevant teams.
  • Undertake additional health and safety responsibilities as directed by the Industry & Environment Business Manager.
  • Provide support for operational activities and special assignments within the Natural Resources Business Unit as required.
Qualifications
  • Degree in a relevant technical discipline, complemented by qualifications in occupational health and safety and fire safety management.
  • Minimum of 4–5 years of professional experience in a similar HSE, compliance, or business continuity role.
  • Strong knowledge of environmental reporting, declarations, and regulatory documentation, with practical experience in managing such requirements.
  • Proficiency in written and spoken English.
  • Strong computer literacy and ability to work with standard business and reporting applications.
  • Valid Category B driving license.
