Key Responsibilities
Sustainability Strategy & Programme Execution
- Maintain strong knowledge of ADM’s sustainability goals, including initiatives related to water, waste, greenhouse gas emissions, energy reduction, and sustainable agriculture.
- Identify new sustainability opportunities and implement projects aligned with ADM’s corporate sustainability objectives.
- Work with internal stakeholders to prioritise and integrate sustainability initiatives across business operations.
- Develop working knowledge of carbon accounting frameworks such as GHG Protocol, Product Environmental Footprint, SBTi, ISO, and related standards.
- Apply carbon accounting principles at product, project, and inventory levels.
- Understand ADM’s product portfolio and assess how sustainability programmes influence product claims related to carbon intensity, GHG reductions, renewable energy, recyclability, and responsible sourcing.
- Support the development and review of external sustainability standards and protocols and assess their impact on ADM’s operations and product portfolio.
- Stay updated on carbon markets, sustainability regulations, and reporting requirements relevant to ADM’s EMEA businesses.
- Build and maintain relationships with external partners, customers, and industry associations to advance ADM’s sustainability priorities.
- Collaborate with internal teams such as origination, sales, communications, legal, government relations, strategy, and utilities to ensure aligned implementation of sustainability initiatives.
- Act as a sustainability advocate and thought leader within ADM and external industry forums.
- Provide subject matter expertise to marketing and sales teams on sustainability-related content, including sell sheets, publications, website content, and customer presentations.
- Support the development and expansion of sustainability product certification schemes such as ISCC, US SSAP, and CSAP.
- Bachelor’s or master’s degree in Sustainability, Environmental Science, Business Administration, or a related field.
- 7+ years of experience in sustainability or environmental management.
- Experience designing and implementing corporate sustainability strategies.
- Strong understanding of sustainability best practices, industry trends, and regulatory developments.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and project management skills.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to manage internal and external stakeholder relationships.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
- Fluency in English; proficiency in additional languages is an advantage.
- Comfortable working in a matrixed organisation.
- Ability to influence cross-functional teams and collaborate across multiple disciplines.
- Willingness to travel up to 30%.
