Job Description:

SUMMARY

Trio Summer Academy. Serves as a Science instructor for high school students (9th grade-12thgrade) in the Trio Summer Academy. This is a six-week instructionalassignment (June - July) with planning meetings commencing in June.

Academic School Year. Provides academicsupport to students enrolled in a Pre-College Program. Works directly with students assisting in one-on-one,small group, and classroom settings. Supports the Program’s objectives and initiatives as directed. 3 days a week from3:30 pm - 6:00 pm.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

• Providesinstruction and student supervision in assigned Science classes
• Monitor sand keeps daily log of student attendance, behavior, and academic development
• Assistsin the development of daily lesson plans and formative and summativeassessments
• Develop sand maintains class syllabi and grade reports
• Providesa comprehensive written summary for each class taught
• Developsengaging and hands-on lessons to facilitate learning
• Supports educational and career assessments
• Develops and implements supplemental curricula, materials and instruction for basic skills courses
• Assists with individual and/or small group tutoring sessions
• Conducts educational workshops
• Works with educational technologies, computer applications, and other materials or delivery systems used to provide academic support
• Performs other duties as assigned

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE/TRAINING

• Bachelor’sdegree in Science or related field
• Experience teaching Science to high school and/or college students
• Experience working with youth from diverse backgrounds

• Master’sdegree (preferably in Science or Science education)
• Experience working with a Trio program

This is a Part-Time Non-Bargaining Unit Position, with the following Set Rate of Pay: $25.00/ hour.
