Position Summary

Adjunct Faculty – Fine Arts

Teach Fine Art, Art History and Art Education courses in‑person at Kean University’s Union campus. An M.F.A. is required.

• Master’s degree in a related field (or equivalent); MBA, Ph.D., Ed.D., or other acceptable disciplinary doctorate encouraged.
• Teaching experience required unless otherwise indicated.
• Proficiency with a Learning Management System (LMS) consistent with university guidelines.

• Teaching 1, 3 or 4 credit classes: minimum 1 hour of availability outside classroom per week during each semester/session.
• Additional 30 minutes of availability per extra class taught during the semester/session.
• Teaching fewer than 3 credits: minimum 30 minutes of availability outside classroom per week during each semester/session.
• Optional additional office hours may be provided at instructor’s discretion.

• Effective September 2024: $1,975 per credit.
• Effective September 2025: $2,100 per credit.
• Effective September 2026: $2,225 per credit.
• After the 13th semester taught: additional $75 per credit.

• Submit a cover letter (include availability for days, evenings, weekends and preferred campus location), resume, and contact information for three professional references.
• Official transcripts are required prior to appointment.
