Substitute Teachers
2025 - 2026 School Year
The Township of Union Public Schools is seeking dedicated, knowledgeable, and qualified Substitute Teachers
Responsibilities:
* Assist with classroom instruction and management in the absence of a regular Teacher
* Ensure regular classroom routines are followed
* Follows and teaches lesson plans
* Aides students in understanding subject matter
Requirements:
* Certified:
* Valid NJ CE, CEAS or Standard Teacher Certification; or
* Valid NJ Substitute Certification
* Non-Certified:
* Minimum of 60 college credits needed to obtain substitute certification in NJ
* Additional information on obtaining a substitute certification can be found on the NJ Department of Education's Website
* Visit NJEDCert to apply for certification
* Valid NJ criminal history letter
* Negative tuberculosis test
Rate of Pay (Effective November 1, 2025):
* $160.00 per day for Substitutes with a substitute certificate
* $170.00 per day for Substitutes with a teaching certificate
