Adjunct Faculty – Advanced Studies in Psychology
Position Overview
Kean University is inviting applications for adjunct faculty positions in the Department of Advanced Studies in Psychology, teaching courses within the Doctor of Psychology (Psy.
D.) program, including School and Clinical Psychology and the Professional Diploma in School Psychology. Positions are offered on a semesterly basis and are non‑tenure‑track.
- Teach one, three (3) or four (4) credit classes in‑person at the Union campus.
- Provide at least one (1) hour of availability outside of the classroom per week for each class taught; an additional 30 minutes of availability is required for each additional class.
- If teaching fewer than three credits, provide at least 30 minutes of availability per week.
- Schedule office hours, which may be in person or virtual, to meet student needs and may be provided in addition to the required availability.
- Doctoral degree required for Psy.
D. program instruction; candidates with an ABD, Ed.D., Ph.D. or other acceptable disciplinary doctorate are encouraged to apply. - Master’s degree in a related field and teaching experience required unless otherwise indicated.
- Proficiency in a Learning Management System.
- Effective September 2024: $1,975 per credit.
- Effective September 2025: $2,100 per credit.
- Effective September 2026: $2,225 per credit.
- Beginning in the 13th semester taught, adjuncts receive an additional $75 per credit.
- Cover letter indicating availability (days, evenings, weekends) and preferred campus location.
- Resume and contact information for three professional references.
- Official transcripts (required before appointment).
