Position: Adjunct Faculty, Division of General Education and Interdisciplinary Studies: Critical Reading &

Critical Reading & Academic Study Skills – Adjunct Faculty

Teach first‑year reading courses in‑person, daytime, at the Union campus. Courses focus on college‑level interdisciplinary critical reading and study skill development. Daytime availability is required.

Responsibilities
  • Teach one to four credit classes, providing at least one hour of availability outside the classroom per week for each 3‑ or 4‑credit class, or thirty minutes per week for each additional class taught during the semester.
  • For teaching fewer than three credits, provide at least thirty minutes of availability outside the classroom per week for the duration of the semester.
  • Schedule additional office hours as needed, at your discretion.
Qualifications
  • Master’s degree in a related field and teaching experience; ABD, Ed.D., Ph.D., or other acceptable doctorate encouraged.
  • Proficiency in a Learning Management System.
  • Daytime availability for classroom teaching.
  • Must be able to provide office hours as outlined above.
  • All positions are non‑tenure track.
Compensation and Benefits
  • Effective September 2025: $2,100 per credit.
  • Effective September 2026: $2,225 per credit.
  • After thirteen semesters taught, an additional $75 per credit.
  • Adjuncts are enrolled in a state‑administered retirement plan, if eligible, and may enroll in the Part‑Time State Health Benefits Program for medical and prescription drug coverage.
