Adjunct Faculty (University)
We are seeking qualified Adjunct Faculty to teach graduate and undergraduate courses in Educational Administration and Educational Technology at Kean University.
Responsibilities- Teach graduate level courses in Principal, Supervisor, and School Business Administrator preparation, covering curriculum, supervision, school business and finance.
- Teach undergraduate and graduate courses in Educational Technology, Instructional Design, Online Learning, Technology Leadership, Digital Media, Emerging Technologies, AI in Education, and related areas.
- Provide at least one hour of office hours per credit per week (minimum 30 minutes for courses with fewer than three credits); additional office hours may be provided at discretion.
- Schedule and conduct in‑person or virtual office hours to meet student needs.
- Assist students in clinical practicum experiences when applicable.
- Document teaching evaluations and contribute to course development as required.
- A master's degree in Educational Leadership, Educational Technology, Instructional Design, Learning Design, or a closely related field;
Ph.D., Ed.D., or other doctoral degree is encouraged. - Teaching experience at the graduate or undergraduate level, or comparable professional experience.
- Proficiency in a Learning Management System, consistent with university guidelines.
- Expertise in one or more of the following: instructional design and learning technologies; online and blended learning; AI in education; digital accessibility and universal design for learning; educational leadership and technology planning; curriculum design and evaluation; multimedia learning; research methods; data‑driven decision making; assessment; and learning management systems.
- Demonstrated ability to develop and evaluate learning materials and assessments.
Adjuncts are paid $2,100 per credit effective September 2025, $2,225 per credit effective September 2026, and receive an additional $75 per credit after the 13th semester taught.
Eligible adjuncts participate in a state‑administered retirement plan and may enroll in the Part‑Time State Health Benefits Program for medical and prescription coverage.
Work Locations- Union (main campus), Ocean (Toms River), Skylands (Jefferson Township), Jersey City, Brookdale (Middletown), Manahawkin, Princeton, Trenton, and online courses for Kean Global.
