Position Overview

Adjunct Faculty – Occupational Therapy (to teach in-person at the Union campus for the Master of Science in Occupational Therapy (MS) and Doctorate of Occupational Therapy (OTD) programs). Opportunities include teaching clinical and lab courses in all areas of practice and providing fieldwork supervision in the community and in the onsite Kean OT Community Cares Clinic. All adjunct positions are non‑tenure track.

Responsibilities
  • Teach clinical and lab courses for MS and OTD occupational therapy programs.
  • Provide fieldwork supervision in the community and in the Kean OT Community Cares Clinic.
  • Maintain at least one (1) hour of availability outside of the classroom per week for each class of one, three (3), or four (4) credit hours taught.
  • Provide an additional thirty (30) minutes of availability for each additional class taught during the semester/session.
  • For fewer than three (3) credit hours taught, provide at least thirty (30) minutes of availability outside of the classroom per week.
Qualifications
  • Master’s degree in a related field is required; candidates with an Ed.D., Ph.D., or other acceptable disciplinary doctorate are encouraged to apply.
  • Teaching experience is required unless otherwise indicated.
  • Proficiency in a Learning Management System is required.
Compensation & Benefits
  • Effective September
    2025: $2,100 per credit.
  • Effective September
    2026: $2,225 per credit.
  • Starting with the 13th semester taught, adjuncts receive an additional $75 per credit.
  • Adjuncts are enrolled in a state‑administered retirement plan when eligible and may be eligible to enroll in the Part‑Time State Health Benefits Program for medical and prescription drug coverage.
