Position Overview

Clinical Supervisor (Adjunct Faculty). Assists with the support and development of student knowledge, skills and dispositions during one or more stages of a student’s clinical placement. Responsible for supervising, observing, mentoring and providing formative and summative feedback to clinical students on classroom preparation performance, aligning with research, theory and best practices.

Responsibilities
  • Supervise, observe and mentor students during clinical placements.
  • Provide formative and summative feedback aligned to NJPST, InTASC standards and Kean’s lesson plan and assessment instructions.
  • Develop students’ skills related to lesson planning, delivery and assessment.
  • Serve as primary contact for P‑12 cooperating teachers and their clinical students.
  • Communicate, problem‑solve, conduct observations/site visits and complete additional evaluations as needed.
  • Monitor completion of all assessments by cooperating teachers and interns throughout the semester.
Qualifications
  • Must hold New Jersey teacher certification.
  • Master’s degree in a related field or extensive P‑12 classroom/administration experience.
  • Preference for candidates with subject‑matter certification.
  • Strong technology skills with Microsoft products or Google Suite.
  • Ability to travel to educational settings for observations.
  • Experience with NJPST and InTASC standards; familiarity with CAEP or AAQEP is preferred.
  • Proficiency in a Learning Management System.
Compensation & Availability

All adjunct positions are non‑tenure track. Provide at least one hour of availability per week per 3–4 credit class, and an additional 30 minutes for each additional class taught. For courses fewer than 3 credits, provide at least 30 minutes of availability each week. Availability may be in person or virtual.

Pay based on the Collective Bargaining Agreement: $1,975 per credit (Sept
2024), $2,100 per credit (Sept
2025), $2,225 per credit (Sept
2026). Beginning in the 13th semester taught, adjuncts receive an additional $75 per credit.

Adjuncts are enrolled in a state‑administered retirement plan (when eligible) and may enroll in the Part‑Time State Health Benefits Program for medical and prescription coverage.
