Position Overview
Clinical Supervisor (Adjunct Faculty) supporting student development during clinical placements. Responsibilities include supervising, observing, mentoring, and providing formative and summative feedback to Kean clinical students on their classroom preparation performance. Assist in lesson planning, delivery, and assessment aligned to NJPST and InTASC standards.
Responsibilities- Supervise and mentor students in clinical placements, providing formative and summative feedback.
- Collaborate with P‑12 cooperating teachers, conduct observations/site visits, and complete evaluations.
- Develop students’ lesson planning, delivery, and assessment aligned to NJPST, InTASC, and Kean College of Education standards.
- Monitor completion of assessments by cooperating teachers and interns throughout the semester.
- Maintain regular communication with supervising teachers and students.
- Hold New Jersey teacher certification.
- Master’s degree or extensive P‑12 classroom and/or administration experience.
- Certification in the subject matter area of supervision preferred.
- Strong technology skills with Microsoft products or Google suite.
- Ability to travel to educational settings.
- Familiarity with NJPST, InTASC, CAEP, and/or AAQEP preferred.
- Proficiency in a Learning Management System.
- Adjunct faculty teach 1, 3, or 4 credit classes. Availability: at least 1 hour outside class per week for 3‑4 credit courses; 30 minutes for additional credit courses; less for fewer than 3 credits.
- Pay per credit: $1,975 (Sept 2024), $2,100 (Sept 2025), $2,225 (Sept 2026). Additional $75 per credit from 13th semester taught.
- Adjuncts may enroll in State retirement plan and Part‑Time State Health Benefits Program.
Positions are based in off‑site P‑12 districts, schools, and other education settings across New Jersey campuses (Union, Ocean, Skylands, Jersey City, Brookdale, etc.) and may include in‑person meetings and events at the Union and Kean Ocean campuses.
