Adjunct Faculty Positions – Accounting & Finance
Kean University invites qualified candidates to apply for adjunct faculty positions in Accounting, Finance, and Business Law for upcoming semesters. Positions are non‑tenure track and are filled on an as‑needed basis.
Teaching Areas & Locations- Accounting – in‑person instruction at Union campus, Kean Ocean, Kean Skylands, Jersey City, and selected courses at Union County College’s University Center in Scotch Plains.
- Finance – in‑person instruction at the same sites.
- Business Law – in‑person instruction at Union campus, Jersey City, and select courses at Union County College’s University Center in Scotch Plains; candidates with availability for morning and afternoon sections are preferred.
- Master’s degree in a related field or higher (ABD, Ed.D., Ph.D., or other acceptable doctorate).
- Teaching experience in the respective discipline.
- Proficiency in a Learning Management System.
- Adjuncts teaching three or four credit classes: at least one hour of availability outside the classroom each week, plus an additional thirty minutes for each additional class.
- Adjuncts teaching fewer than three credits: at least thirty minutes of availability outside the classroom each week.
- Availability may be conducted in person or virtually; adjuncts may schedule additional office hours beyond the required amount.
- Effective September 2025: $2,100 per credit.
- Effective September 2026: $2,225 per credit.
- After teaching a thirteen‑semester term: an extra $75 per credit.
- Adjuncts are enrolled in a state‑administered retirement plan and may qualify for the Part‑Time State Health Benefits Program.
Submit a cover letter indicating availability (days, evenings, weekends) and preferred campus location, your resume, and contact information for three professional references. Official transcripts are required before appointment. Review of applications is ongoing and begins immediately.
Employment RequirementsEmployment at Kean requires work at any of the New Jersey campus locations or affiliated sites, including the main campus in Union, Kean Ocean (Toms River), Kean Skylands (Jefferson Township), Kean Jersey City, Kean at Brookdale (Middletown Township), Manahawkin, Princeton, Trenton, and online teaching via Kean Global.
