Adjunct Faculty – Criminal Justice & Public Administration
All adjunct positions are non‑tenure track and are filled on an as‑needed basis.
Areas of Instruction- Criminal Justice – instruction in Corrections, Law, Policing, Cyber Security and Investigations in‑person at the Union Campus, Jersey City, or Kean Ocean Campus.
- Public Administration – instruction in Administrative Law, Advanced Topics in Public Administration, and Health Administration in‑person at the Union Campus.
- Teach one, three, or four‑credit classes and provide teaching and student engagement services.
- Provide at least one (1) hour of availability outside the classroom per week for each 3‑ or 4‑credit class taught.
- Provide an additional thirty (30) minutes of availability for each additional class taught during the semester.
- If teaching fewer than three (3) credits, provide at least thirty (30) minutes of availability outside the classroom per week.
- Schedule availability in person or virtually, taking into account student needs.
- Optionally offer additional office hours beyond the required amounts.
- Master’s degree in a related field; or ABD, Ed.D., Ph.D., or other acceptable disciplinary doctorate.
- Teaching experience in the subject area unless otherwise indicated.
- Proficiency in a Learning Management System, consistent with University guidelines.
- Ability to travel to the University’s New Jersey campus locations as required.
- $2,100 per credit (effective September 2025).
- $2,225 per credit (effective September 2026).
- Additional $75 per credit for adjuncts beginning in their 13th semester taught.
- Enrollment in a state‑administered retirement plan, when eligible.
- Eligibility to enroll in the Part‑Time State Health Benefits Program for medical and prescription drug coverage.
- Assignments may be in person or online (Kean Global) and will be based on operational and university needs.
- Faculty must be able to work at any New Jersey campus location or affiliated work site, including Union, Kean Ocean, Kean Skylands, Kean Jersey City, Brookdale, Manahawkin, Princeton, and Trenton.
