Position Title

Adjunct Faculty – Fine Arts. The role involves teaching Fine Art, Art History, and Art Education courses in-person at Union or Jersey City campuses. The position is non‑tenure track and is filled on an as‑needed basis.

Responsibilities
  • Teach assigned courses (3 or 4 credit) in-person.
  • Provide at least one hour of availability outside the classroom per week for each 3 or 4 credit class; provide an additional 30 minutes of availability for each additional class during the semester.
  • Provide at least 30 minutes of availability outside the classroom per week for each course when teaching fewer than three credits.
  • Plan lessons, assessments, and instructional materials in accordance with University guidelines.
  • Maintain an online presence and use a Learning Management System (LMS).
Qualifications
  • Master of Fine Arts (M.F.A.) required; otherwise a master’s degree in a related field with teaching experience.
  • ABD, Ed.D., Ph.D., or other acceptable doctorate encouraged.
  • Proficiency in a Learning Management System is required.
  • Teaching experience in fine arts, art history, or art education preferred.
Compensation & Benefits

Effective September 2025: $2,100 per credit.

Effective September 2026: $2,225 per credit.

After 13 semesters, an additional $75 per credit.

Benefits include enrollment in a state‑administered retirement plan (when eligible) and eligibility for the Part‑Time State Health Benefits Program for medical and prescription drug coverage.
