Adjunct Faculty – Nursing

Nursing adjunct positions support the Accelerated Bachelor of Science in Nursing (ABSN) Program and related graduate programs on the Union and Jersey City campuses or at affiliated hospitals.

• Teach one, three, or four credit classes, including nursing fundamentals, medical‑surgical, population health, obstetrics, pediatrics, and behavioral health.
• Prepare and deliver lecture, clinical, and laboratory instruction.
• Provide required office hours: at least one hour of availability per week for each three‑ or four‑credit class, plus thirty minutes for any additional class; for classes of less than three credits, at least thirty minutes per week.
• Schedule office hours in person or virtually to meet student needs.
• Maintain proficiency with the university’s Learning Management System.

• Master’s degree in Nursing or a related field.
• Relevant teaching experience is required; ABD, Ed.D., Ph.D., or other acceptable doctoral degrees are encouraged.
• Proficiency in a Learning Management System.

• Payment rate: $2,100 per credit (effective September 2025) and $2,225 per credit (effective September 2026).
• Beginning with the 13th semester taught, an additional $75 per credit is added.
• Eligible to enroll in the Part‑Time State Health Benefits Program.
• Adjutants are enrolled in a state-administered retirement plan when eligible.
