Adjunct Faculty – Biological Sciences (Kean University)
Kean University, located in Union, New Jersey, is inviting applications for adjunct faculty positions in the Biological Sciences department. Adjuncts may teach courses across multiple campuses, including Union, Jersey City, and Kean Ocean Campus.
Responsibilities- Teach undergraduate biology courses, including Botany, Zoology, and Forensic Science, as assigned.
- Develop and deliver engaging lecture and laboratory materials in line with university curricula.
- Provide the required office hours per course (see availability section).
- Participate in departmental meetings and academic activities as required.
- Master’s degree in Biological Sciences or a related field; ABD, Ed.D., Ph.D., or other acceptable doctoral degrees are encouraged.
- Teaching experience in a higher‑education setting, unless otherwise indicated.
- Proficiency with a Learning Management System (e.g., Canvas, Blackboard).
- For 3–4 credit courses: at least one hour per week of office hours.
- For additional courses taught: an extra 30 minutes of office hours per course.
- For courses with fewer than three credits: at least 30 minutes per week of office hours.
- Office hours may be in person or virtual and scheduled by the faculty member.
- Effective September 2025: $2,100 per credit.
- Effective September 2026: $2,225 per credit.
- After 12 semesters: an additional $75 per credit.
- Eligible for state‑administered retirement plan and Part‑Time State Health Benefits Program.
