Adjunct Faculty – Chemistry / Physics

Kean University is seeking qualified adjunct faculty to teach General Chemistry, Organic Chemistry, Biochemistry, and introductory Physics courses (with optional lab components) at our Union and Jersey City campuses.

• Teach lecture, recitation, and laboratory courses as assigned.
• Provide required availability: one hour per week for three‑to‑four‑credit courses, 30 minutes per week for one‑ or two‑credit courses; additional office hours at discretion.
• Use the university’s Learning Management System in accordance with guidelines.

• Master’s degree in a related discipline (or ABD, Ed.D., Ph.D.).
• Teaching experience in higher education (or equivalent).
• Proficiency with a Learning Management System.

• $2,100 per credit (effective September 2025) or $2,225 per credit (effective September 2026).
• Additional $75 per credit after the 13th semester taught.
• State‑administered retirement plan (eligible).
• Part‑time state health benefits program (eligible).

Teaching may be required on any Kean campus (Union, Ocean, Skylands, Jersey City, Brookdale, etc.) or online through Kean Global.
