REQUIRED:

Valid New Jersey Teaching Certificate
ESL Certification required
Experience with WIDA Screener or ACCESS testing preferred
Strong organizational and communication skills

DUTIES:

The Township of Union Public Schools is seeking certified ESL teachers to assist with screening of incoming Kindergarten and other new or transfer students who are identified as possible multilingual learners. Upon completing a records review, teachers will administer the WIDA Screener for K-12 students whose Home Language Survey indicates a language other than English. This work supports the district’s compliance with NJDOE multilingual learner identification requirements and ensures students are appropriately identified for ESL services prior to the start of the school year.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

Administer with WIDA Screener for incoming kindergarten students and any other new students in grades K-12
Review Home Language Surveys and student records prior to testing
Score, record and upload screener tests results
Notify parents/guardians
Complete the identification process in Genesis Assist with the placement of newly involved students

DATES:

November 1, 2026
- June 30, 2027 (hours will vary based on testing)

RATE OF PAY:

$46 per hour (not to exceed 20 hours)
