TWM Waste Operative; Alexion

Function Description

• On‑site waste collection: Handle the internal collection of different waste streams across the site and transport them to the designated central waste area.
• Loading and unloading: Carry out loading and unloading activities safely and efficiently.
• Waste preparation: Sort, pack, bulk, and repackage waste so it is ready for onward transport to the processing facility.
• Waste identification and storage: Manage the correct identification, labelling, and storage of waste at the designated stock location in line with applicable regulations.
• Container inventory: Monitor and manage the inventory of empty containers to ensure sufficient stock is always available.
• Transport readiness: Prepare waste so it can be safely, correctly, and compliantly loaded for transport.
• Waste removal planning: Support the planning and registration of waste removal to ensure processing is completed according to customer agreements.
• Administrative support: Complete the required documentation and administration so waste transport can take place properly and on time.
• Safety compliance: Follow all safety procedures and work instructions to help maintain a safe workplace for everyone.
• Workplace housekeeping: Maintain a clean, organized, and tidy working environment.

• Education: Leaving Certificate or equivalent qualification.
• Relevant experience: 1–2 years of experience in waste management, or relevant waste-handling experience in pharmaceutical, production, or petrochemical environments.
• Forklift licence: A forklift licence would be an advantage.
• Teamwork and independence: Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
• Attention to detail: Strong accuracy and attention to detail in waste handling, storage, and documentation.
• Communication skills: Good communication skills for coordinating with teams and following instructions clearly.
• Safe Pass: Safe Pass certification is desirable but not essential, as training will be provided.
• Chemical awareness: Knowledge or awareness of chemical handling would be an advantage.
