it’s like to be a Licensed Clinician

As a Full‑Time Licensed Clinician at Owen Health Care in Vauxhall, New Jersey, you will play a pivotal role in directing and coordinating all Substance Abuse and Mental Health Programs. Your responsibilities will include supervising MSW intern students and Support Coordinators under the DDD program, as well as completing essential NJSAMS and EHR intake documentation for incoming clients. You will provide individualized, group, and family counseling while conducting comprehensive biopsychosocial assessments and developing treatment plans grounded in research and clinical expertise.

In this capacity, you will evaluate client suitability for programs, advocate for them during crises, and facilitate referrals to community resources. Additionally, you will maintain rigorous compliance with DMHAS and agency standards while organizing treatment team meetings and providing quality case management. Your involvement in collaboration with community agencies will ensure effective service delivery and program growth, all within a supportive, professional environment that values empathy and integrity.

  • A Master’s degree in Social Work or a related field is required.
  • LCADC, LSW, or LCSW certification is required and strongly preferred.
  • Professional demeanor and appearance are crucial for maintaining trust and rapport with clients.
  • Proficiency in software tools such as Excel, Word, NJSAMS, and EHR navigation is required.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills, strong organizational and time‑management abilities to handle a diverse caseload effectively.

  • Familiarity with New Jersey levels of care and treatment will enhance the clinician’s ability to provide effective, client‑centered support.
