Position Summary:
Hospice volunteers play a vital role in providing comfort, support, and companionship to patients and families during end‑of‑life care. Volunteers offer their time and presence to enhance the quality of life for patients and support the hospice care team.
Key Responsibilities:Provide companionship through friendly visits, reading, conversation, or playing music.
Offer caregiver relief through respite visits.
Participate in bereavement support by making calls or writing letters.
Help with administrative tasks such as filing, data entry, or mailings.
Document visit notes and time logs accurately and timely.
Compassionate, patient, and dependable.
Excellent listening and communication skills.
Must be at least 18 years old.
Able to pass background check and health screening (TB test, etc.).
Completion of required hospice volunteer training.
Flexible; generally 1–4 hours per week depending on volunteer availability and patient needs.
