Following recent organizational and structural changes across the Council, People and Organizational Culture is seeking a Summer Student to support a comprehensive review and alignment of HR organizational and job‑related information across multiple systems.
Under the direct supervision of the Senior Human Resources Advisor, the studentwill:
- Review and validate job summaries to ensure they accurately reflect approved divisions, sections, reporting relationships, and organizational structure.
- Verify that both English and French versions of job summaries are available, aligned, and consistent; and flag those requiring translation.
- Verify that all active positions identified in Unit4 (HRIS) reports as requiring a SharePoint file have matching approved bilingual job summaries and corresponding HR records in SharePoint by performing a comprehensive cross‑reference across all three sources.
- Use the organizational chart as a complementary visual tool to validate reporting relationships and structure.
- Verify that all active positions in Unit4 (HRIS) have a corresponding SharePoint file.
- Ensure SharePoint metadata (division, section identifiers, etc.) aligns with the approved organizational structure.
- Identify SharePoint files associated with inactive or abolished positions and flag them for archiving in accordance with established information management practices.
- Maintain tracking tools, document findings, and prepare recommended updates for review and validation.
This work directly supports data integrity, organizational effectiveness, staffing accuracy, and operational efficiency across the Council.

Who is eligible to apply?This program is intended for students. To be considered, you must:
- Currently be enrolled as a full‑time student at a recognized post‑secondary institution;
- Be enrolled as a part‑time or full‑time student in the next academic year (proof will be required)
- Be a Canadian citizen, permanent resident or a student with a valid study permit (for international students); and
- Meet the basic requirements of the positions.
The duration of employment for the Summer Student Program is approximately sixteen (16) weeks.
The student must be enrolled in a College/CEGEP or Undergraduate (Bachelor’s) program in:
- Human Resources Management
- Business Administration
- Public Administration
- Information Management
- Or a related field
- Strong analytical skills
- Attention to detail and accuracy
- Data entry and data validation skills
- Organizational skills
- Initiative and autonomy
- Sound judgment
- Strong oral and written communication skills
- Working knowledge of Word and Excel
- Familiarity with databases
- Experience with SharePoint or similar systems is an asset
This position requires the use of both official languages. The requirements in the second official language are:
- Intermediate level in reading comprehension (B)
- Intermediate level in writing expression (B)
- Intermediate level in oral communication (B)
